Greeting Card CompaniesHas anyone heard of...been involved with a company called Golden Art, Inc. from Avon, Colorado? Just curious. They called me a month ago with a 'deal' to have note-cards printed. This 'deal' didn't sound very good to me but I told them to send info anyway.
So......before I blast any company online, or elsewhere, I thought I'd check with the experts. I know what it would cost me to publish my own cards and this program seems way out of line. Basically they want $2500.00 to print 10k cards. Thats expensive already. But guess what.......they keep the cards and give you a 2% royalty. Or......you may 'buy' cards from them for 50% of retail. Duh.....This is a deal?
Anyway....I may be missing something, but I think not.
Anyone know of this company?

Artist GuidelinesThank you for your interest in Recycled Paper Greetings. WE are always looking for new artists. Our approach presents unique challenges while offering great freedom to freelancers. Most greeting card companies give assignments, but we believe the strongest cards come from individuals expressing their own feelings in their own styles, so please send messages with your designs. Our standard vertical format is 5"x7". Card mock-ups are an effective way to present your work. We believe that art makes a customer pick up a card, and the message makes them buy it. Opening a card should never be a let down.
* Start with birthday, friendship and thank you.(though we will certainly look at other sentiments).
*Send up to 10 cards, label each with your name and address.
*Do not send slides.
*Do not send previously published work.
*Please include a self addressed stamped envelope big enough to hold your submissions. The review process can take up to 12 weeks. Simultaneous submissions to other companies are perfectly acceptable. If your work is chosen for test marketing, we will contact you to discuss final art preparation, procedures and payment. If it is not selected, all work will be returned.
Please send your submissions to:

Peaceable Kingdom Press sells cards and posters of artwork from Children's books. If anyone is interested their website is http://www.pkpress.com/product/prints2.html >>--
The company that I have the most work for is Rennaissance. I admiire them because they are one of the few in the industry that will offer a royalty arrangement, and your name is printed on the back of the card. The original artwork is always returned and they are NICE! I hope to do more work for them-I always send new work to them first.Jane

Renaissance Greeting Cards Inc.

Springvale, ME 04083I'd drop them a line requesting a copy of their artists' guidelines first step, then when you read that, you will know more about what they are looking for and tailor your submission to THEM.

You read right. Some may already know this, but I just got the new issue of Gifts and Dec (Decorative Accessories) and in the new briefs part it says Hallmark bought out InterArt, also known as Sunrise. Don't know how this affects all the lisenced artists with sunrise, but it does mean Hallmark is gonna be even MORE places for the consumer.Lisa P

If you are talking about Sunrise Greetings, their website is www.interartdistribution.com. They are located only about an hour from me. I was also rejected, but give them a try.
